In Chapter 19 of Becky’s memoir Beyond the Great Abyss, Becky is in Florida visiting Victor’s sick father with Victor (and thus off her home territory with its home court advantage). Intuitively perceiving hidden danger, Becky has a disturbing dream where she is a clay model of a woman, washing clothes on an old-fashioned washboard, and partially nude no less. With this image the meaning of the dream burns into her brain – that to be safe she is distracting others from her true self with sex and apparent domesticity – and she recognizes that this is not a healthy situation, emotionally or physically.
Are you compromising yourself in your relationships? Are you hiding your true self? How does this affect you? (See Workbook Introduction for how to use this workbook).

Intuition Development Exercise: Sit and think for a moment of when and where you feel most comfortable and truly yourself. Is it with someone you love? By yourself when you are in your own home, outside in nature, or with a beloved pet? Or maybe it is when you are deeply engaged in an activity you love? Make a list of these times and of how you feel, i.e. who you are at your best. Think also of some times when you are not comfortable and cannot be your wonderful true self.
Now, let us sink into a meditation where that true self fills you with light and love. Ask yourself what is best in your life, and what do you need to do to help you grow and be strong. Let conscious thought drift away as you focus on your breathing (or a mantra or any thought calming method) to allow Spirit’s guidance and your subconscious wisdom to rise into your conscious mind.
